Soon-to-be firefighter
I always played sports growing up (swim team, softball, basketball) but didn’t start intentionally working out until I found ninja warrior in 2020. Inspired by all the amazing obstacles and challenges it presented, I began weight training to improve my strength and began to really love it. When I moved to Spokane this fall, I knew I wanted to find a gym with a great atmosphere and fun people and after trying one class at Farmgirlfit, I knew it was the right place to join!
Getting to compete on American Ninja Warrior season 15! It was such a unique, fun, and challenging experience and I am so grateful I had the chance to compete.
I am so inspired by all of the other strong women and athletes I see in my life. At FGF, on American Ninja Warrior, and among my friends and family.
Probably any of the slower heavy lifts we do, like back squats, deadlifts, strict press. Although, I did just PR my 500m row for time at 1:44!
Woman makers or anything with a renegade row
“I am capable of doing hard things” -- this has sort of become my mantra when I am struggling mentally or physically with a workout.
This would have to be the Pokémon Theme Song - don’t judge it until you try it; it’s a fantastic hype song!
I’m currently training to prepare for the Spokane Fire Department. I start the academy this summer and I am focusing on improving my strength and mobility in preparation for the challenges it will throw at me.
The amazing community. I have tried a lot of different gyms and I have never experienced as much positive energy and support as I have here at FGF. I am so grateful for all of the amazing women who make it what it is!
Being a newbie to Spokane, Farmgirlfit has really helped me meet some new friends and increase my social circle which can be hard in a new city. It has also really helped me build my strength and prepare myself for the challenges of American Ninja Warrior and the fire department.
When I’m not at FGF, I love spending time outside hiking, mountaineering, biking, and playing with my dog, Zuko. I also spend a lot of time working on touch-ups and improvements on my tiny house!
Swinging from obstacles in a ninja gym or at a Spartan race! I love being in the air, and doing obstacles is the closing thing to flying that I have experienced.
A home-made gigantic breakfast burrito.
Really good bread. I can and will eat an entire loaf of good sourdough bread in one sitting if given the opportunity!
A firefighter!
Last summer my boyfriend and I built a tiny house from the ground up which I now live in! It will likely be featured on this season of American Ninja Warrior ;) previous to living in the tiny house, we lived out of a converted truck that we built out so the tiny house is actually a huge upgrade in size!
Not really a team but any female ninja warrior! Competing on the same course as the men is tough and whenever another woman finishes a course, I get so stoked!!
Of how far I’ve come in my fitness journey! When I started ninja I could barely hang on a bar and when I added weightlifting to the mix I would break down in tears when things felt hard or uncomfortable. Now I am competing on American Ninja Warrior and I love being challenged mentally and physically in the gym. Nothing compares to the satisfaction I get from finishing a really tough Grind and I am so proud to have gotten through the mental challenge and shifted my mindset to love the hard stuff!
